Changing a strap coiler box
The strap coiler box on your manual roller shutter isn't working properly?
We show you how to easily and quickly replace your strap coiler box. You can replace it with a system sold without a strap (15mm strap winder), if the strap is working correctly. Before starting the repair, equip yourself with a utility knife and a flat screwdriver.
1. Standard coiler box
Step 1: Preparation of the strap. Using the knife, make a small incision from the end of the strap downwards.
Step 2: Opening the casing. Using the flat screwdriver, simply press on the top of the casing, then turn. Repeat the same operation at the bottom. The casing is open.
Step 3: Placing the strap in the casing. Before placing the strap in the retractor, check that the strap is straight and that there is no tension or knots. Then, pass it below the tab (located at the top of the housing). Using the incision made previously, place the strap in the second small tab located in the middle of the mechanism. This will allow the strap to lock.
Step 4: Unblock the stopper. Keep the strap in the tab, then turn the mechanism slightly at the same time to release the stopper. Press using the flat screwdriver to bring the strap inside, then very slightly spread the tab.
Step 5: Placement of the strap. As soon as the previous step is carried out, hold the mechanism and let the strap roll up. Then make a final pressure on the small stop to avoid any friction. Close the casing.
2. Quick load coiler box
Step 1: Preparation of the strap. Make a small incision in the same way, from the end of the strap down. Then place the strap in the lower tab.
Step 2: Fitting the strap. As soon as the previous step is carried out, simply pull the strap to release the tab. Then, the strap will roll up.
