Our product is designed and fabricated in our workshop in northern France, to your dimensions and configuration by our team of DIY enthusiasts! Installation types: 'Renovation' roller shutter

    Under lintel (window reveal) installation

    The shutter fits into the reveal under the lintel. The side tracks and slat curtain come down against the window.

    Please note: 5-8mm tolerance allowance is automatically subtracted from the provided opening dimensions.

    Under lintel (window reveal) reverse installation

    The shutter fits in the reveal, under the lintel. The slat curtain descends flush with the surround. Note: the roller box must not be larger than your available depth under the lintel.

    Face mounted installation

    The shutter is fitted above and around the opening, allowing full daylight through when raised. Constraint: the roller box must have room above the opening (up to 205mm height), and the side tracks require 55mm on each side of the opening.

    Please note: The box and side track dimensions are added on automatically to the provided opening dimensions

ALU vs. PVC slats

The all-aluminum roller shutters offer optimal sound insulation and enhanced security. Aesthetically, the choice of colours is extensive and the finish is effectively resistant to UV and weather wear.

  • Visible dimensions of aluminum slat: 42 x 8.80mm; weight = 2.31Kg/m2

  • Polyurethane foam injected: density 90kg/m3

  • Additional thermal resistance (?R Class 4) = 0.15 m2 K/W

  • Thick aluminum strap 27/100e

  • Crimped slat ends to wedge the alignment of the slats between them; slats are protected during operation, and quieter

  • Slat apertures except spring & lock control

PVC slat

PVC slats have high thermal insulation while the material is a more economical option. The material is sensitive to UV and bad weather, and colour fading, especially white. PVC slats are always associated with an aluminum frame, ie box, side guide tracks and bottom slat.

Slat apertures for good ventilation

The AvosDim roller shutter curtain has apertures between the slats. These are regular openings / interstices which allow ventilation with lowered (not fully closed) shutters, or to darken without obscuring light completely.

When completely closed the shutters offer a full blackout.

Spring & lock manual control shutters are made with non-perforated slats for technical reasons.

Shutter curtain clips

Shutter slat curtains are attached to the roller tube with flexible curtain clips as standard. These are space-saving, flexible and hold up very well to multiple daily operations. Depending on the control type selected, rigid hanger clips, also called anti-lift clips, are also available. These rigid clips prevent the shutter from being pryed up from underneath for absolute security.

Remote control motorised shutter - AvosDim ®

Automated opening and closing groups can be made from the same control unit. Signal ranges easily allow remote management over several meters.
Thanks to the AvosDim ® smart home box or Tahoma Somfy ® connected home box, unidirectional RF roller shutter motors can also be managed from the smartphone app on Iphone and Android, as well as via Alexa or Google Assistant / Google Home voice speakers. Home automation boxes for shutters are sold separately.
AvosDim ® Motors also exist with a 'manual override' version. The emergency manual override motors allow manual operation without power supply via a crank.

Motor stop limits are adjusted in the factory, however occasionally these need to be set on installation.

Switch control motorised shutter - AvosDim ®

This electric roller shutter can be operated effortlessly from a hard-wired switch of AvosDim or any other brand. Both the motor (4-core cable) and the switch require an electrical connection. The stop limit switches of the wired motor are manual. The costs for this control type are very affordable.AvosDim ® Motors also exist with a 'manual override' version. The emergency manual override motors allow manual operation without power supply via a crank.

Remote control motorised shutter - Somfy ® S&SO RS100 io ®

Like any remote control motor, groups of automations can be made from the same control unit. The motor comes with automatic locks.
The S&SO RS100 io is the most innovative motor on the market, the improved version of the classic io: increased resistance to manual lifting attempts, improved longevity thanks to the choice of slow or fast speed, increased interior comfort provided by the "Smooth" mode which reduces operation noise in conjunction with a Smoove RS100 io wall control, and power consumption reduced by half.
As with all io homecontrol models, feedback is integrated into this bidirectional 2-way motor, automation management can be done remotely via the Tahoma interface (Tahoma Switch sold separately) - stopping automatically in case obstacles and frost, adjustment of permanent automatic stops, and setting preferred stop position on the control point. Another advantage of io technology is its scalable protocol shared by several major home brands (including Philips, Legrand, Velux, etc.), which allows automation control between devices.

Spring & lock manual shutter

This fully manual shutter is the ideal roller shutter for doors, and spaces without power supply. Supplied with a set of 3 keys, it has a lock accessible from both sides. On the lock slat, 2 recessed handles on each side allow operation. On the bottom slat, external side, 1 metal pull handle is also supplied. A compensating spring in the mechanism accompanies the movement to facilitate lowering and raising.

Strap coiler manual shutter

Operation is manual, with raising and lowering done via a tensioned strap and coiler box. This type of shutter is technically suitable for small and medium dimensions as the weight is lifted manually. For operating external shutters from inside, 20mm minimum frame width is required for the passage of the inside / outside strap.

Good value for money. Looks smart and from indoors it operates virtually silently. Would consider buying for more windows, but would need packaging to be improved to be more robust to avoid impact damage to casing panels and also prevent the rubbing of top slats against roller attachment straps.

Most of our motors are 17rpm. Approximatey 30 seconds to raise or lower 220cm.
